Congratulations to Amanda C. Zambrzycki, St. Francis Preparatory HS, for receiving the 2012 Student Leadership Award!
Amanda, a current high school senior, began volunteering with Lee Academia in 2011. She founded the Polish Heritage Youth Club to promote the Polish heritage and interest to others while performing community service activities in New York City. She recruited and led the Youth Group during various activities last summer and was awarded for her leadership and community service. American Red Cross Youth Group (Putnam County)

Founded in 1997-1998, Stephenie organized and recruited local youths to participate in local community activities, such as the Annual Men Who Cook events, volunteer at nursing homes, distributing food and drinks at the local Bicycle Tours and more. In 2011, Little Neck's Tutoring Club was founded by a 7th-grader who noticed that there were many students who needed help with homework assignments, English, and even Math-help. Amy Lee had this brilliant idea, asked Lee Academia to help advise the club, and shortly after she began organizing a small group of interested peers and volunteers to come together and meet every week to help other students on their homework assignments, and to explain English or math concepts.
