Our Mission
Lee Academia Educational Consulting is a New York- based educational company which offers effective tutoring, mentoring, and admissions consulting. Lee Academia places a special emphasis on recruiting the best. Our instructors model tenacity and academic achievement, inspiring our students to work with vigor both inside and out of the academic arena. Our goal is to exemplify the skills needed to unlock the door to a successful high school, college and professional career.
Having worked with young people throughout her educational career, Lee Academia Founder/Director - both an instructor and Educational Consultant - found that students needed encouragement and insights to challenge themselves to exceed the requirements of curriculum.
Most students do not adequately prepare for the rigors of an academically challenging environment beyond high school and they do not realize that this preparation and discipline needs to be cultivated as early as possible…even before high school.
Preparation for the high school, college or higher institution of education requires more than test scores or grades. Schools have become more selective in an effort to create a diverse population of students from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and financial standing. Students are expected to demonstrate strength of character, qualities of leadership, a commitment to their community and an enthusiasm for learning with their peers. Our mission at Lee Academia is to help students (traditional, nontraditional, home-schooled, cyber school students, students with disabilities, athletes, and more) develop their fullest potential, and choose the best program of study that will complement their strengths and interests.

Our Educational Philosophy
At Lee Academia Educational Consulting, we believe that a student's academic success comes from great teaching, regular counseling, and an excellent curriculum, as well as parental involvement. The combination translates to a degree of personal attention that other educational centers simply cannot match and gives the student an outstanding academic environment in which to grow.
Lee Academia offers solid preparation in fundamental academic skills, not only quick tricks to beat standardized tests. We are dedicated to helping students and families who are committed to high achievement and ready to dedicate the time and effort it takes to succeed, and we get our results by taking high school and college admissions seriously.

Note from Stephenie Lee, Director, to parents/guardians:

想要在美國大學教育留學嗎?
The college admissions process gets more competitive each year and the pressure of college admissions is at an all time high. School counselors just don't have enough time to offer academic guidance and college planning to all their students. The average student-to-counselor ratio at most public schools is 1 counselor to every 460 students. Most school counselors do not have the opportunity to get to know individual students, much less to help design customized education plans. As the counselors are handling menial tasks unrelated to preparing students for success after high school graduation, the students are given less time to sign up for the right classes to stay on the college track.
Statistics for admissions this year were lower than any other in history, but never fear. There are things that a student can do to increase their chances of getting into the school of their choice. Parents need to know that there is a college for everyone. The Ivy Leagues are extremely tough to get into, but the truth us is that once you get past the top 20 most competitive colleges, most schools admit the majority of applicants.
Don't believe all that you read and hear. Don't enter the frenzy of talk about colleges. This is your child's personal journey to finding the right college and getting crazy about everyone else's opinions will only bring you down.
Lastly, do not be shy about looking for help. Competition to get into college is fierce. It's important to put the best foot forward in the college application. The people the student is competing against are likely getting help, so don't hesitate to take advantage of all the resources available to you.
An independent College Counselor / Educational Consultant may be helpful for families seeking additional guidance. We can show students how to work with their high school college counselor during the college admissions process. We cannot promise admissions to a particular school, however, we guide students and their families through every step of the college admissions process, from identifying schools that will be the best academic and social fit for them, compiling and formatting the resume, preparing for interviews and college visits, explaining the admissions process, brainstorming and editing components of the application, including the essays and personal statement, to creating applications that portray the best and most accurate representation of who the student is to the admissions committee at the targeted schools.
As I helped students prepare for the SAT/ACT, SAT Subject and AP exams for the last 15 years, and informally counseled students with their college admissions for 15 years before launching Lee Academia, I had the privilege of working with many unique students who are truly interested and motivated in maximizing their college options and beyond.
I am looking forward to meeting you and your child soon.
