Who Stephenie Will Work With:
Ms. Stephenie gets the best results when she's working with the right students. Part of being a good instructor is knowing when and when not to engage a student in the first place. Before you begin working with Ms. Stephenie, you should understand how she works and who she prefers to work with. If, after reading this description, you don't feel that you or your child is the right match, we'll be happy to recommend other tutors and Lee Academia tutoring programs who might better suit you.
1. We offer "boot-camp" or "crash-course" tutoring for short-term results, but it's not for every student. The SAT is a test that takes time to master for many. While there are multiple "quick-fix" strategies and tactics that can improve a student's score, real results come from patient, long-term prep. Ms. Stephenie prefers to develop a real relationship with her students, to know their strengths and weaknesses, and to develop enough familiarity with them to teach as effectively as possible.
2. We prefer students who can set a regular schedule, and who prioritize their SAT prep. Ms. Stephenie's schedule is nearly always booked throughout the year, and consistency is extremely important to her. She prefers to work with students who can set routine, regular schedules on the same day(s) and time(s) each week. Constant rescheduling due to extracurricular activities is detrimental to the test-prep process, and to her own ability to schedule properly. Although we will work with arrangements, please only get in touch if you feel that you can set aside at least 2 hours per week, on the same day and time each week, to devote exclusively to test prep.
3. While Ms. Stephenie has tutored many students with learning disabilities, she is not a licensed expert in this field. We've taught students with severe ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning impediments, and we're happy to do so, but only with the understanding that we are an expert in test prep and College counseling, and not in formal education and disabilities management. If there are learning impediments that you feel will severely limit your child's ability to attend to our lessons, we firmly believe that the first step is to meet with someone licensed in this field.
If you feel that you're able to commit the proper time and attention to your SAT prep, we're happy to schedule you to work with Ms. Stephenie!
