Early Guidance

The Early Guidance programs are designed for high school freshmen, sophomores, and some juniors. With Early Guidance, students will be given assistance to help make the most of high school and be prepared for the college admissions process. Every guidance program is customized to the student's individual needs and complement the services offered by their school counselor. The Initial Consultation will advise students on:

Academic, personal, extracurricular background
Selecting academic courses and electives to ensure a challenging yet appropriate curriculum
Facilitating teacher relationships
Recommending extracurricular, community service, employment, and summer activities
Developing plans for optimizing motivation and learning
Exploring interests
Learning how to make an impact in the school and local community
Receiving early college counseling
Refining academic and personal goals
Developing strategies to meet goals
Provide guidance on standardized tests and optimal scheduling
Counsel on effective time management approaches

Programs vary based on the amount of time your child would like with the consultant. During the Initial Consultation, a recommendation on the number of hours of Early Guidance that will help your student meet his or her academic and personal goals will be provided.

Students may take advantage of the Early Guidance program through the middle of their junior year.
