So, tell me about yourself...
Stephenie trained her peers in high school with mock interviews, and was former interviewer for Columbia University for 6 years. She was also the former Westchester County Co-Chair of Columbia University's Alumni Representatives Committee for the Office of Admissions. She teaches her students how to impress their interviewers, how to present themselves well, and how to hone their interview skills . With mock interviews and actual college interview questions training from a former interviewer, students have gained an edge to one component of their College admissions process.
Picture yourself an interviewer for a highly selective college like the University of Chicago or Columbia. You're around 30 years old, a bit out-of-shape, and utterly fatigued from interviewing 100 or more smiling applicants each week. Most prospective students are interesting, accomplished, and charming – you are, after all, an interviewer at a highly selective college – but there's only so many times you can hear about Mock Trial, Student Government, and Model United Nations.
Most students head into admissions interviews with the vague goal of impressing their interviewer but no specific gameplan to do so. Lee Academia's Interview Training doesn't give students canned responses. No one likes politicians whose answers sound like they've been pre-approved by focus groups, and the same certainly holds true of prospective college students. Rather, Stephenie will teach students how to shine – how to wow seen-it-all interviewers – by thoroughly researching each school and preparing memorable, distinctive stories.
